In 1987 James Joseph had a paralyzing dream about a future America. Twenty one years later, his horrific dream became the catalyst for the historical novel, So Long America.

The Story begins as America emerges with unparalleled freedoms, untold ingenuity, and was transformed by a national character. Resourceful Americans, of all nationalities, were relentlessly driven by a barrage of raw, gutsy, pure entrepreneurship. A country in a hurry with individuals guided by an inner moral compass and influenced by Judea Christian values. And what appeared to be lasting is abruptly curtailed. Individual freedoms are abolished and their guiding moral compass is jumbled.

In 1850 the Sac Nation was ravaged by a despicable monster. Soft Eyes is spared and betrothed by a Kavanagh, the quintessential entrepreneur. The Kavanagh lineage endures the Civil War and partakes in the 1891 Land Run. Cotton wealth emerges, and oil expands their fortune. A century later Marianna Kavanagh seeks to unravel the family mystery.

Throughout the story, intimate family relationships emerge, love stories abound, and tragically some lovers are maliciously ripped apart. All crumbles and our beloved America, sans our freedoms and Amendments, no longer endured.
